Social Cultural Awareness
I think I can really relate much easier to people from my direct community and my country than internationally. On that scale I do not know what peoples’ thinking perspective is or what our cultural differences are. SCA is a very important competence within the design process and I need to improve in this competency a lot so I think I am in an awareness state now. This is a competence I did not learn very much new and I think I am still in an awareness state.
In the coming semester I have to research this competency to increase my development on the area. I is very important as a designer that you can relate to people and can reach people with your products.

The trip to Milan has given me an opportunity to look into the world of design and especially the world of Italian design. I noticed the difference between Milan and the design from Eindhoven since I have visited also the DDW.
The assignment DG412 taught me the most about social cultural awareness. The interview with the expat was sort of an eye opener for me as it comes to the Asian culture and their way of seeing the world. In the presentation you can see a small impression of the interview.
