Ideas and Concepts
I do not have any problems with coming up with ideas and creating concepts. I always find inspiration in things I experience as problematic in my own life, and try to use this experience for a design project. I could learn more about the various of methodologies for creating concepts and ideas and trough user research in order to get new ideas. I think I am in an awareness state in this competence. As you can see we made a lot of mind maps in our project and came up with many ideas.
I also did hands on modelling to get inspiration for our design project, by trying to shape little wooden sticks into i a useful form for our folding system. Once I found the basic shape I also made a metal model. This really helped us with the solution for our folding problem in the project. This turned out to be successful. You combine three separate components to create one single unit to be able to turn it 180 degrees.
'As the leader of a group you are quite capable of developing your ideas. It remains to be seen how well you can assimilate the ideas of other strong designers into your own work. You need to progress further from written ideas to the interactive process of hands-on development.' Coach: Janine Huizenga
This project I also had my contribution in creating ideas and concepts. From the first brainstorm session to the final prototype I had my part in the process. Next project I could make more sketches and explore more around the ideas and concepts.
